Zachary was born October 15, 1983. He was 2 weeks late before being born. I went into labor with him on the evening of October 13, 1983 while eating diner at my parents home. John and I stopped at the hospital, St. Marys, around 6:00 PM to get checked out and I had not start to dilate yet so they sent us home. The doctor said these were braxton hicks contractions. They felt like "real" contractions to me.
We went home and I continued to have contractions very sporadically. I called my doctor, Dr. Paul Schmidt of Dean Clinic. He asked me to come in to get checked out.
